Pokemon Uranium Nuzlocke: Nuclear Meltdown

Pokemon Uranium is a fully completed, fanmade pokemon game originally made by Involuntary Twitch and now kept alive by the fans! It features some official pokemon designs as well as fanmade ones and takes place in the new region of Tandor. Nuclear Meltdown will follow Shaon after the events of a nuclear explosion took away her family and left her fending for herself. Now in her twenties and armed with a partner and her childhood friend Theo, she plans to start a new life for herself in the amazing world of Pokemon. Updates are on Wednesdays and Saturdays!

I feel like learning about the realism in pokemon battles is important, especially since this will be a nuzlocke comic! I imagine that pokemon battles in the past were much more dangerous, when trainers were new and pokeballs were just invented. It makes sense to me that each region's rules about battling are regulated by each country's respective pokemon league.

For Tandor, the rules I have in this comic are that the battle is done once a pokemon is unable or unwilling to fight. Deaths can still happen when one pokemon hits especially hard or when there's a level or skill difference, but this rule was put into place after too many trainers and their pokemon were becoming badly injured in battles. New legislation about the ethical treatment of pokemon was passed, tightening restrictions and putting forth legislation for pokemon rights. Even as pets or battle companions, they needed to be treated humanely. Part of the push for nuclear power is the harsh, often painful conditions that electric pokemon were exposed to in power plants. Likewise, lobby groups and trainers alike pushed for better battling conditions for their beloved partners!

@XExoPantherX:
Thank you for the kind words! If you haven't, check out the pokemon uranium subreddit - they have continuous patches that add little fixes to the game to make it more enjoyable (mostly fixing bugs and stuff).

Either way, thanks for reading - I hope you enjoy everything else I have planned for the comic :3
